Best Presentation by a Junior Officer – $500

This Award is open to any junior ranked officer from any Service presenting at the 2017 AMMA Conference. For presentations where there is more than one presenter, both presenters must be junior ranked officers to be eligible. If a presentation with multiple presenters is deemed the best presentation, the award and prize money will be presented to the group.

Presenters nominating for this category will have their eligibility confirmed by Council before their name is added to the voting form.

 

Best New Presenter – $500

This Award is open to any presenter at the 2017 AMMA Conference who has not previously presented at an AMMA Conference, workshop, or symposium.

For presentations where there is more than one presenter, both presenters must be new presenters. If a presentation with multiple presenters is deemed the best presentation, the award and prize money will be presented to the group.

Presenters nominating for this category will have their eligibility confirmed by Council before their name is added to the voting form.

 

Best Other Ranked Presenter – $500

This Award is open to any Other Ranked presenter.

For presentations where there is more than one presenter, both presenters must be other ranked. If a presentation with multiple presenters is deemed the best presentation, the award and prize money will be presented to the group.

Presenters nominating for this category will have their eligibility confirmed by Council before their name is added to the voting form.

 

Weary Dunlop Award –

The Australasian Military Medicine Association is committed to supporting military medicine, and as a result, present the Weary Dunlop Award for the best original presentation given at the annual Conference. The award is open to all presenters at the Conference and is named in honour of Sir Edward “Weary” Dunlop, who passed away in 1993.

The award prize is …… and publication of the paper in the association’s journal; Journal of Military and Veterans’ Health. It is open to all presenters, whether or not they are members of AMMA and must be an original presentation to which they have intellectual property rights.  Delegates must advise if they wish to be considered for this prize.

 

Conference Poster Award –

The Conference Poster award is open to those whose abstracts have been accepted as a Poster submission. It is open to all presenters, whether or not they are members of AMMA and must be an original presentation to which they have intellectual property rights.

 

Patron’s Prize –

The Patron’s Prize will be awarded to the AMMA Member with the best article published in a peer reviewed journal. It must be a health-related article and published within the past financial year (30 June 2016 – 30 June 2017). Members must submit their article for consideration to the AMMA Secretariat secretariat@amma.asn.au by 30 August 2016.

 

Journal Editor’s Prize –

The award for the best paper published in the Journal of Military and Veterans’ Health within a 12-month period will be judged and presented by the Chief Editor.

 

JMVH New Author Prize –

The award for the best paper published within a 12-month period by an author who has not previously published in the Journal of Military and Veterans’ Health will be judged and presented by the Chief Editor.

 

JMVH – Best Veteran Paper –

The Veterans Paper Prize is awarded by the Editorial Board of The Journal of Military and Veterans’ Health for the best original paper on veterans’ health published in each volume of the Journal (constituting the issues published in each financial year). The Editorial Board will determine the criteria and method for determining the award of the Prize.

An original paper is one that is published in any of the following Sections of JMVH:

Original Papers; Short Communications; Case Studies; Review Articles; History.

Membership of the Association is not a requirement for the granting of the Award.

 

PLEASE NOTE

A presenter cannot win more than one award for a single presentation. However, if the author presents multiple presentations, each one can be judged separately for each relevant category.

In the event a single presentation is the winner of multiple categories, it is at the discretion of the Council as to how the awards will be allocated.
